The Miami Beach Cinematheque is Miami's premiere HD art cinema on South Beach...located at 1130 Washington Avenue in the Historic City Hall built by Carl Fisher. Since 1993 the Miami Beach Film Society (MBFS) has been a pioneer cultural resource in Miami, bringing cinema as an art-form to South Florida. Now films and exhibitions are year-round! For full calendar info check out www.MBCinema.com.

For eight years MBC had a home on the west end of Española Way on South Beach. MBC has now grown up, being the first <all digital> cinema in Miami, in collaboration with digital distribution partner Emerging Pictures. We moved in 2010 to an amazing and exciting (and yet still intimate, charming, and historical) upgraded home: the beautiful south side ground floor of the Historic City Hall on Washington Avenue, in the accessible and central heart of South Beach!  The new MBC is an expanded version of its Española Way address, with 50% more screening room capacity, raked seated and state-of-the-art digital projection and 5.1 Dolby stereo sound, photographic arts gallery and library, and café with indoor/outdoor seating, featuring our own line of baked goods.

We look forward to your participation and support in our exciting new endeavor, and can’t wait to personally welcome you aboard “The Founding Circle”!
