It’s the last day of #NationalAgWeek and today we are highlighting the furry and cute rabbits that are exhibited at the Fair! Did you know that the Rabbit Auction at the 2017 Merced County Fair in the Hilmar Cheese Barn sold a total of 148 rabbits that generated $29,125 in sales? Every year the pigs, also known as “swine,” are a hit during the livestock exhibits at the Merced County Fair. Did you know that adult pigs can run at speeds up to 11 MPH? In honor of #NationalAgWeek today we will be highlighting Dairy cows! Did you know that there are 6 different kinds of cattle shown at the Fair? Dairy cattle were bred for the ability to produce large quantities of milk, from which dairy products are made. Fun Fact: At the #2017MCF in the Les McCabe Arena, the Dairy Replacement Heifer Sale generated $227,600 from the 70 heifers sold! Are you showing livestock at this year’s Fair?
