Description
Preschool to grade 8 Catholic School St. Mary of the Assumption School facilitates a wide range of learning for students between the ages of pre-school through eighth grade. Weekly mass helps to strengthen the students’ bond with God along with daily religion class and frequent interaction with our on-site priests and deacons. St. Mary of the Assumption School has stood for over sixty years and continues to be a model of excellence and virtue to the children of Northeast Ohio.

facebook.comMiss Watt's first graders completed two STEM challenges. They needed to make a turkey hideout that would hide and protect their turkey. They also constructed a dinner table that would hold many Thanksgiving dishes. Each design turned out great!

St. Mary’s Helping Hands received a HUGE donation from the Mentor Police Department after their successful “fill a cruiser” campaign. Student Council members helped sort of the food by date and helped store the food in the pantry. The kids had fun while helping others in need.
Need a lift? Check out the bulletin boards by the Mary mosaic. Student Council and the 7th graders wrote uplifting messages which students, faculty, and staff, can take when needed. Students are also encouraged to replenish the board with their caring thoughts.

On Friday, the 8th Grade participated in a full day retreat. The theme was “Called and Chosen.” Students participated in team building activities that focused on patience, communication, and kindness. As the day culminated, students participated in a service project. Thanks to generous donations, we were able to pack 92 bags, filled with toiletries, socks, gloves, and hats, for the homeless.
The Fifth Graders had the opportunity to hear the Cleveland Orchestra at Lakeland Community College last Thursday. They were treated to music by Beethoven that was played by one of the premier orchestras in the world. They shared the concert experience with about 1400 other students from all over Lake County!
God bless all the second graders who made their First Reconciliation.
