HRS 2nd graders visit Avera Marshall!

Mrs. Klaith's and Mrs. Rettey's 2nd graders went to the Avera Kids program at Avera Marshall Hospital on Wednesday, May 10th. They learned about hand washing, nutrition, saw some X-rays, and got a small one-layer cast put on their arm!

HRS Kindergarten class learns about India!

On Tuesday, May 9th, Mrs. Chandni Chatrath and her son (a Kindergarten student at Holy Redeemer) taught our Kindergarten classes some children’s songs from India. The students learned a little about India and enjoyed hearing the music. Thank you, Mrs. Chatrath!

HRS 6th graders learn laws of motion in Science!

The 6th graders in Mrs. Wenker’s Science class made roller coasters. They designed and build them using laws of motion. Students identify gravity, force, momentum, friction, potential energy, and kinetic energy. They identify potential and kinetic energy of roller coaster cars by their position on a track. Students drew and labeled their designs identifying where their marble was in a position of potential and kinetic energy.

Biographical Museum at HRS.

On Friday, May 5th, the HRS 5th graders presented their Biographical Museum. Each student researched a famous person, wrote a report, designed a poster, and dressed like the person. Museum goers could push the button next to the exhibit and the figure came to life and gave a short bio! All are welcome to this fun event each year!
