WE HAVE A BIRTHDAY! 🎊🎉🎂 Minnesota State University, Mankato and Library Services at the University invite both the local and University communities to join a celebration of Memorial Library’s 50th year on Monday, Oct. 2 from 2-4 p.m. Library tours will be available, and a short program will be held at 2:15 p.m., with cake and refreshments!
Minnesota State University, Mankato Theatre & Dance Mainstage opens their 2017-2018 season tomorrow! Each of their six productions this season will represent one 25-year period of Minnesota State University, Mankato's history. The kismet seemed to occur when realizing that there was one very special musical based on a wildly popular book that was published the year the University was founded as the Mankato Normal School in 1868. That musical was “Little Women,” a Minnesota State Mankato premiere opening tomorrow, Sept. 28 in the Ted Paul Theatre. For more information, visit the link below!
Recent graduate Francis Kanneh's startup business, UnderRecruited Preps, helps high school student athletes get recruited and earn college scholarships. UnderRecruited Preps has recently won the student division of the MN Cup—the largest statewide startup competition in the country—which will give UnderRecruited Preps $30,000 in startup seed money. On October 9, the MN Cup grand prize winner will be announced. The winner will receive an additional $50,000 for their business, and 2nd place will win an additional $20,000. Minnesota State University, Mankato continues to grow along with its expanding student population. This includes new buildings, such as the University Dining Center. The Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Social Work has received a four-year, $399,900 federal Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program grant from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration. The award has the ability help to address the significant regional need for greater access to behavioral health services in southern Minnesota. For more information, visit the link below.

The fall DISH Fair happened Tuesday, Sept. 12, with lots of fun and games to be had. DISH stands for, Diversity IS Happening, a cover organization for at least a dozen individual cultural identity based groups. These groups were all tabling at the event and represent many of our culturally distinct populations.
Minnesota State University, Mankato's Student Events Team will be hosting The Danger Committee this Friday (9/22) at 8:00 p.m and an Inflatable 5k on Saturday (9/30). The Danger Committee’s show features a combination of juggling, knife throwing and other dangerous acts. The Danger Committee has performed worldwide and appeared on national television. This will be the Danger Committee’s first performance at Minnesota State Mankato. The public is invited to join Minnesota State Mankato students in participating in a 5k run/walk featuring inflatable slides, climbing walls and other obstacles. The 5k will be held at Blakeslee Stadium; participants can choose to either run around the inflatables or complete the obstacle, intended to be a fun way to break up running and walking while adding an element of excitement to the race. The event will also include a free photo booth, climbing wall and other activities. For more information, visit the link below!
