In Mark's gospel, Chapter 1, Jesus is led directly to the wilderness to be "tested" by satan for 40 days. What does the word "test" mean in this passage. We learned Sunday it means that Jesus was continuing his identification with we humans. The baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist is described in Mark 1:9-11. It was not a baptism of repentence as we receive but Jesus was baptized to more closely identify His human side with us.
