Check out our new website! www.magnoliaarts.net Magnolia Arts Council (also known as Magnolia Arts) was incorporated in 1963 as a non-profit organization. It supported as its main event the Side Walk Art Show at the annual Magnolia Blossom Festival held in May. 2010 marked our 60th Annual Side Walk Art Show. Over the years the organization has grown to support the arts in all its forms in Magnolia and Columbia County, making the arts a vital part of the community. To do this, the corporation sponsors events throughout the year that give all members of the community a chance to express themselves through the arts, and also brings arts events to the people of Columbia County. It also encourages and assists existing organizations sponsoring cultural and artistic activities. Its activities are reflected in its mission statement, "Bringing art to the people and bringing art out of the people in Columbia County." Magnolia Arts Council becam a 5013(c) in 1977.

Mark your calendar to come see "The Phony Physician" by Thomas Hischak. September 6th or 7th at 7pm Comedy Theatre Coffee House ages 16 and up. $7 for members and students $10 for general public. Coffee and Dessert included! Adapted from Moliere's The Doctor in Spite of Himself. Skelly is the laziest fool in the village. He refuses to cut down trees because they are his only friends. To get even with her layabout husband, Mavis tells a wealthy man that Skelly is the most skilled physician in ten counties. And that to get him to work, Skelly must be beaten with a broom.

Any Christmas related painting, drawing, photography, digital, mixed media, printing, collage - anything as long as it is flat and can be printed on a card. Must be appropriate for business and consumer use. Winners are selected by a “People’s Choice” public vote during the month of September @ the Magnolia Arts Center. 116 S.
