Jon was out first day volunteering as part of his degree in nutrition this summer. He and Nikki planted 30 new lemon trees in our little "grove", along with lots of other farm chores. Owen was out also preparing education area and leaning on weedwacker.

Mary and Martha (that's funny) trimming and cleaning up around the farm house. Mary is one of our newest volunteers and a great worker. She wants to head up the fruit/moringa tree project I'm getting ready to announce. Chicks having a ball digging/scratching everywhere with their freedom!!!!

What a wonderful view of our farm's diversity.....Martha at 85 "finishing strong" and Owen at 16 "starting strong" by volunteering and donating their time (and hard work) to something they feel is important and matters. Worked together yesterday cleaning out the chicken coop and doing various task around the farm. It was fun to watch them and be a part of and listen to the dialogue.

Martha Wiest is a marvel at 85 donating time (and hard work) to Abbys farm. Loves being here and contributing to something she loves and believes in.......people growing their own healthy organic food.

This Sunday at 5:00, Abby's Farm!!! "Spend some time in our herb garden learning the culinary and medicinal uses of the herbs we are growing. We will talk about the herbs we are growing, share a few recipes and talk about how to make herbal salves and infusions." This workshop is being presented by our own Pamela Powell. This Sunday the 21st from 5-7, we have two workshops at the farm. Our volunteer Eric Brierley will be doing "Bee" workshop. Eric is a credentialed bee expert and will discuss their value to farming and the entire ecosystem. Sophia Zayfman will be doing another exciting kundalini yoga class. We've had a lot of people express interest, so please confirm your attendance here or sign up on our website.

We had an awesome time with this wonderful group of humans learning about composting and chicken care. Then we had "dinner in the field " with lots of great food. Twenty was a good turnout, with several canceling last minute for life's interruptions. Thx to all who attended and brought the wonderful dishes. Special thank you to Owen, Nancy and Nikki for preparation.

Don't forget.....this Wednesday the 17th from 5-7pm we are having a "Compost & Chicken Care" workshop. We will be talking all about backyard composting, the do's and don'ts and the value to your garden. Also, Nikki is doing a workshop on our chicken care and what we do to make our little friends healthy and happy!
