Last Wednesday, May 10th, over 1,500 kids flooded the Loma Linda University campus lawn for the 32nd annual Children’s Day. Focused on giving children and their parents insight into a wide variety of health care areas, this free event brought together over 200 volunteers from the community and #LLUHealth, including our #LLUSP student groups, RxAbuse and GenerationRx, whose overarching objectives are to educate and help reduce prescription drug abuse and misuse in people of all ages. “It was fun to play with the kids while teaching them that medication can look very similar to candy, and that they should not take anything without knowing where it came from and checking with an adult first,” says Class of 2018’s Briseyda Sequeira. “All of the children were so adorable, and I was glad I had the opportunity to interact with them and their parents during the event.” #APhA #outreach #publichealth #medsafety
