A play by Tracy Letts Most of the play takes place in a seedy motel room. Lonely cocktail waitress Agnes lives there, hiding from her violent ex-con ex-husband Jerry Goss. One night, her lesbian biker friend R.C. introduces her to Peter, a Gulf War veteran who might be AWOL. She gets involved with Peter, who grows increasingly paranoid about the war in Iraq, UFOs, the Oklahoma City bombing, cult suicides, and then secret government experiments on soldiers — eventually drawing Agnes into his delusions. The play deals with the issues of love, paranoia, conspiracy theories, and Agnes' slow descent into insanity under Peter's influence. Directed by Joe Rubino What to expect: - Bring Headshot and Resume. - Sides and material will be provided (date: TBA).. - If you have a contemporary monologue prepared you may audition with it but it is not mandatory. Roles Available- Agnes White- 46 yrs old. Lives in an old motel. Southern accent. Loner. Her son Loyd disappeared 10 years ago. Drug addict. Codependent. Apprehensive and stand off-ish. Peter Evans- 27 yrs old. Polite, respectful, well-spoken but mysterious and closed off. Possible paranoid Schizophrenic. Claims to be a U.S. veteran of The Gulf War, before going AWOL after escaping government experimentation. R.C.- Lesbian best friend of Agnes. She is very rowdy, but also very loyal and protective. Definitely a party animal. Southern Accent. Jerry Goss- 46 yrs old. He is the stubborn yet still caring ex-husband of Agnes. Convicted criminal who was just released from jail. Extremely intrusive, abusive, and temperamental. Dr. Sweet- A mysterious stranger that has been looking for Peter. It is unclear as to what his motives actually are. He claims to be "Peter's doctor" but his strange behavior contradicts the validity of his words.

In a movie theater near Worcester, MA (called The Flick) -- one of the few that hasn't yet switched to digital film -- three employees work dreary jobs for just above minimum wage: selling tickets, cleaning up after patrons, and running the projector. The economy is depressed and so are they, and yet over the course of this Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, Sam, Rose, and Avery show themselves to be complex, feeling people with unrealized ambitions to become more than their dreary surroundings. Annie Baker's drama unfolds in unhurried naturalistic scenes (much to the frustration of some early audiences at the New York premiere), and her astonishingly well observed and subtle characterizations suggest a Chekhovian ability to forge compelling drama from the littleness of everyday life. Roles Available: AVERY- 20 yrs old, African-American. Bespectacled. He wears red slightly European-looking sneakers. In love with the movies> ROSE- 24 yrs old. Caucasion. Sexually magnetic, despite the fact that (or partly because?) her clothes are baggy, she never wears make-up and her hair is dyed forest-green. SKYLAR/THE DREAMING MAN- 26 yrs old. Directed by Scott Johnston The Flick will be performed at Studio Theatre Long Island on February 9th, 10th, and 11th, 2018. Audition Sides will be provided, no monologue required.
