Dr. Lina Bostwick has been teaching for 13 years. Eight of those years were spent as a BSN faculty member before joining the Graduate faculty at Bryan College of Health Sciences in 2013. Prior to teaching, Lina worked full-time in the nursing field for 34 years. “Having many years of direct patient care in the acute care setting, followed by several years of nursing management was an excellent base for me personally. My acute care path included: 7 years of direct patient care in a general care neuro medical/surgical unit; 4 years of direct patient care in a cardiac recovery and a med-surg ICU; 3 years as an ICU coordinated care manager; and finally 7 years as an ICU manager and Cardiac Central Monitoring Unit manager.” Lina has always been passionate about learning, and passing that passion on to her students is one of her favorite parts of teaching. “My favorite part about teaching is that I am continually contributing to student learning with and among my colleagues in a positively dynamic organization that lives and breathes its mission on a daily basis. I continue to learn with and from my students as they are creating new ways of thinking, change, and new knowledge in our graduate programs at Bryan.” Lina’s hard work and dedication to the field of nursing and nursing education has paid off. She has received many awards and certificates. Some of these include American Nurses Association Institute-Fellow; Nebraska Nurses Association, Nurse Hero and Mentor Award; and Bryan College of Health Sciences Outstanding Faculty Award. We want to thank Lina for all she does for the profession of nursing and for Bryan College of Health Sciences. Thank you Lina! “Permit yourself to be a life-long learner, the rewards are unparalleled.”—Dr. Lina Bostwick
