Labor Day is September 2. Curé will have one Mass at 9 am. The parish office will be closed on Monday and will reopen on Tuesday at 8:30 am.

Cure of Ars STREAM

STREAM is a curriculum where core subjects are coordinated to co-support each other under an educational structure of how science, technology, religion, engineering, mathematics, and the broad spectrum of all the arts are interrelated. The STREAM structure demonstrates how all the divisions of education, faith, and life work together. STREAM incorporates all of the basic elements of STEM and STEAM while incorporating authentic Catholic teaching as an intrinsic and key element in an exploratory, and inquiry-based learning environment. Churches in Johnson County targeted in email scam, authorities say

We have received notification that Cure of Ars is being targeted again by a scam where an individual sends an email pretending to be a priest and asks people for gift cards or money. You can read more about this scam in the KCTV5 article linked below. Please know that no priest at Curé of Ars will email asking for you to purchase things for him. These scam emails are coming from a fake Gmail account. Official communication from Curé will use an email in the format of FirstNameLastName@cureofars.com. Any emails that look like they are from a priest but end in @gmail.com are a scam. Please help us spread this message by liking and sharing this post. We do not want anyone to fall victim to this scam. Thank you!

Please join the Secular Franciscans as we study “Evangelizing Catholics” by Scott Hahn. Meetings are typically held on the 4th Sunday of the month at 1:30 in the Ars II room. Our next gathering is this Sunday, August 25.

Curé of Ars Mothers of Young Children (MOYC) enrollment is officially open! Please sign up at www.cureofars.com/moyc. MOYC is an active ministry group for moms with children kindergarten age or younger. Our goal is to provide fellowship through our philanthropic work, meetings, faith enrichment activities, and social functions for moms, children, couples, and families. This group is a great way for moms within the parish to get to know and support each other. A few examples of activities include Gift Gallery fundraiser, dinner clubs, informative speakers, and kids activities. MOYC would like to invite all mothers of young children to our Fall Kick-Off meeting on Tuesday, September 10, at 7:00pm in the Father Burak Room. Come meet other parish moms and enjoy refreshments while learning about all the exciting opportunities MOYC has in store for 2019-2020.

Day 9 O revered Curé of Ars, you lived in an age of political upheaval and war, a time when men turned their backs on God. In assigning you to Ars, your bishop warned you that it was a parish where there was no love. He wished for you to be a priest who would enable the people to know the love of God. Not only did you renew your congregation, but your holy reputation soon spread and through your efforts many people were drawn to a life of devotion to God. O Saint John Vianney, once again we are living in a time of upheaval. There is much evil in the world. Obtain for me the grace to persevere in my faith and draw me closer to God. May I walk with the Lord and trust in Him all the days of my life. Obtain, through your intercession, an increase in vocations and a priesthood full of love of God with men who are able to bring the world to Jesus Christ.
