One of our most beloved songbirds, Bluebirds were once on the decline in Pennsylvania. Thanks to the combined efforts of land managers, ecologists, naturalists, and volunteers, the bluebird has been coming back. Preserve Manager, Jarrod Shull, has taken an active role in providing habitat for these birds through our nest box program. Here you can see two weeks of progress, from egg to chick in one of our boxes at Peacedale Preserve. We always love to see new babies snuggled in their nests!

Just in time for spring nesting, preserve manager Jarrod Shull has installed 16 bluebird boxes at Peacedale Preserve. He'll be building a new trail soon, which will be named for these pretty cavity-nesting songbirds.
