Lancaster County, PA Station 66 (*Not all incidents are posted.) The Lancaster Township Fire Department protects about a six square mile area and about 14,000 people on the western edge of Lancaster City in Lancaster County, PA. The department responds out of two stations and operates 3 engine companies, 1 ladder company, 1 heavy rescue company, 1 marine company, and several support vehicles. The LTFD responds to approximately 550 runs on an annual basis which include structure fires, vehicle accidents, miscellaneous fires, fire alarms, and public service calls. LTFD's district is primarily residential with several high-income mansions, low-income housing complexes, townhouse communities, and many single family homes. There are 2 strip malls, several churches, and multiple restaurants in the first due area. Lancaster Township also has several major traffic routes which cross through the district including Route 999, Route 23, Route 462, Route 324, Route 272, Route 222, and Route 741.

2 days after a million dollar fire loss at Kensington Club Apartments, LTFD was dispatched at 5:18 pm for an investigation across the street from the building that was destroyed by fire. All 12 units at 642 Wyncroft Lane were evacuated following a report of sagging flooring and ceiling cracks. After an inspection by a code enforcement officer and L.C.R.T. 36 Collapse Team Chief 905, it was determined that residents of nine of the units could be allowed to return. Until a structural engineer can determine if they are safe to inhabit, units 4, 8 and 12 are condemned, Tom Daniels, Lancaster Township’s zoning, said Sunday. Units cleared the scene at 7:46 p.m.
The 10:56 am 2 alarm apartment building fire at 645 Wyncroft Lane on Thursday March 15 damage estimates include $1 million for the building itself and $250,000 for contents in the apartments. The fire was initiated by workers who were replacing the rubber roof on the building, attempting to seal a seam with a torch. 20 adults and 5 children of the 8-unit building at Kensington Club Apartments were displaced and being assisted by the Red Cross.
Lancaster Twp. FD will be holding a public safety community day June 2 at Wheatland Middle School beginning at 10 am. At the end of the community day events a parade will be held. Any apparatus wishing to participate are requested to arrive between 10 am & 1:30 pm at Wheatland MS. Units will be on display for the community day attendees. A fallen tree caused a power outage in the area of Wabank Road and Bean Hill Road yesterday just before 4 p.m. The tree fell on utility wires and downed a utility pole. Fire police closed the roadway during the incident.
Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these firefighters from the swift completion of their Monday night training drills.

Friday morning Truck 50 and Truck 66 were positioned near the entrance of St. Joe cemetery with a gigantic American Flag to honor Elmer Reese as he travelled to where the last alarm was sounded. The house sirens of Lancaster Township Fire Department North Station and South Station blew at the end of the interment service.
Family and Friends gathered Thursday night at Scheid Funeral Home to say good-bye to Past Bausman Fire Company Fire Chief and LTFD life member Elmer Reese.
Just before noon today, Engine 66-1 and Engine 66-3 responded to the 1200 Block of Millersville Pike in the Manor Shopping Center for a reported car on fire. LT 66-2 (Slover) arrived with a working engine compartment fire. (Photo credit - Eric Sheetz)
