Our Public Works crews are out plowing and salting our 57 lane-miles of streets. Please drive carefully during this snowy weather, Lake in the Hills! While our crews are out during and after this snowfall, keep in mind this shoveling tip: Clear snow at the end of your driveway in the direction of traffic. Additionally, clear a few feet from the edge of the curb to the left side of your driveway as you face the road to prevent snow from being plowed back to your driveway when a snowplow passes.

❄️⚠️❄️ REMINDER: When it's this cold outside, your water pipes may be at a risk of freezing! Exposed plumbing pipes in any unheated areas, such as an attic, crawl space, or garage are at risk of freezing (pipes in the basement or heated areas of the home are rarely at risk). Allow a faucet to slowly drip during the coldest winter days to help ensure your pipes do not freeze. For more information, call the Public Works Department at 847-960-7500.
