UPDATE: The boat ramp has been re-opened, thank you for your patience! *************** Please be advised that the boat ramp is temporarily closed due to debris removal efforts in the bay by the U.S. Coast Guard. The ramp is expected to re-open Saturday, September 16th. An alternate boat ramp is available at Clear Lake Park. Be sure to check back here for updates, thank you!

Sylvan Beach Park is now open to the public! Please note, the beach is currently closed for safety purposes; however, the fishing pier is open. For more information on the pier, call 281-471-5705. Thank you for your patience.

UPDATE: The south beach will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, May 31st through Thursday, June 1st for sand renovations. The north beach will remain open during this time. Thank you! ******************** Please be advised that crews will be making improvements on the north and south beaches of Sylvan Beach Park over the next few weeks. Improvements will include sand replenishment on the beaches. The south beach will be closed this week, and will re-open on Saturday, May 20th. The north beach will be closed Monday, May 22nd and will re-open Saturday, May 27th. All improvements are expected to be complete by Memorial Day weekend. Thank you for your patience during this project.

Don't forget - City of La Porte's 125th Birthday Celebration begins tomorrow, May 11th through Sunday May 14th! They'll have several activities planned, some of which will affect access to Sylvan Beach Park. Tomorrow you can expect limited park access on the south side of the park. On Saturday, the pier and boat launch will be closed all day in preparation for the concert, but will re-open on Sunday. Visit the event page for more information on the concert.

Be advised that the boat ramps will be closed tomorrow and Saturday for the Sylvan Beach Festival hosted by the La Porte - Bayshore Chamber of Commerce. Please note, Clear Lake Park and River Terrace Park boat ramps can be used as alternates. Thank you!
