Serious cold in the rest of the county. Shorts and tshirt weather here- sorry to our followers outside of San Diego! Stay warm and safe. The iguanas will live if they warm up though- reptiles often appear dead when they shut down. We have to use a special doppler ultrasound to hear their heart beats that can sometimes be as slow as 1 beat/minute. Cool creatures! https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/04/us/iguana-florida-cold-weather.html
Enough said! Happy New Years peeps.
Waiting patiently for dad and the weekend. What a good dog!
The healing power of the animals our lives never fails to amaze us. ❤️❤️

Happy Halloween PESC friends and family. Have fun. Don’t forget to use a car service if you have a German Shepherd or two too many! Please remember to keep pets indoors- especially cats- most people are awesome, some are horrible. Chocolate is toxic to dogs and candy can make any pet sick so watch those candy bags. Have fun kiddos and “grownups”....👻🎃☠️👹
Happy Veterinary Technicians Week to all of our incredibly dedicated staff at the PESC. These are the Veterinary Technicians/Nurses/Client Service Specialists/Assistants and everyone else that makes it possible for us to care for you and your pets 24/7/365. Our crew literally works around the clock and their dedication to their work, patients and each other inspires us all. Thank You!
One of the best places for people and dogs in San Diego. Let's keep it clean.

Dear PESC friends. I am one of the directors of the PESC. We need your help. Firstly, allow me to thank those of you that have taken the time over the years to give our clinic positive reviews online. If you have not reviewed us and you had a positive experience at our clinic, please review us on Yelp. If you came to our clinic you know we do a lot of surveys and analysis to make sure we are providing excellent client and patient care. We know that the vast majority of people who bring their pets to our clinic realize how devoted our drs and staff are and are happy and appreciate our care. Unfortunately, this is not reflected on yelp and the majority of negative reviews are frankly at least part, mostly or entirely untrue. Generally the people that post very negative reviews don't contact our service team and deal with it like mature adults or give us a chance to address their concerns. Up to this point we have tried to address the ones that point out situations in which we did not do our best. We do not discuss individual pet's care online (except for this page and only when approved by our clients) and we have tried to take the high road up to this point by not responding. However, these reviews are incredibly demoralizing to our devoted staff and doctors-all of whom work very long hours and many who literally work through the night to be here for your pets. Sooo- we would very much appreciate it if our many fans that have experienced our clinic take a moment and review us on yelp. If you did not have a positive experience please call our clinic and ask to speak to a member of our client service team. We will work hard, as we always do, to correct any issues. We do try to be perfect, but know that this is not always achievable. Thank you for being such great supporters of our clinic and our staff. https://www.yelp.com/biz/pet-emergency-and-specialty-center-la-mesa
