Attention Local Artists: The Arts & Culture Alliance and the airport announce a call for entries for the 18th Arts in the Airport, a juried exhibition developed to allow regional artists to compete and display work in the most visited site in the area. Beginning on October 15, 2017, McGhee Tyson Airport will celebrate its 80th anniversary. In conjunction with this anniversary milestone, Arts in the Airport welcomes works that have been inspired by the past 80 years of progress within our community. Whether works of art are inspired by progress seen in aviation, transportation, or travel, this Arts in the Airport Exhibit will be one of the events that the Airport Authority highlights in its year-long anniversary campaign. Approximately 40-45 fine art works encompassing all styles and genres from both emerging and established artists will comprise the exhibition in the secured area behind McGhee Tyson Airport’s security gate checkpoint from April 27 – October 18, 2017. The deadline for entries to be received is Tuesday, September 5, 2017. Please help spread the word about this art and aviation opportunity!
