EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS CLASS Mohave Community College -- Neal Campus Kingman, 1971 Jagerson Ave., Kingman is offering an all-day non-credit class for anyone wanting to gain the skills and knowledge needed to survive a disaster or catastrophic emergency. Demonstrations using various survival tools, and event simulations including terroristic school situations, plus hands-on experience will assist volunteers to be prepared. Taught by FCC Ham Radio operator Dan Miller, K3UFG, sharing his extensive disaster deployment experience background with National American Red Cross and emergency communications knowledge/training with ARRL -- The National Association for Amateur Radio will help ensure a stronger, more knowledgeable volunteer force serving our community. City of Kingman City Manager Finalists The City of Kingman Common Council will host four City Manager candidates in Kingman next week. Finalists for the position include: Clifford Burnett of Weatherford, TX; Patrick Comiskey of Thomaston, GA; Ron Foggin of Dallas, OR; and Stephen Kil of St John, IN. On Monday, March 19th, the finalists will receive a tour of our community and city facilities followed by a reception from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the Mohave County Administration Building. City Council will interview finalists on March 20th and 21st and hope to make a decision on a final candidate at its April 3rd meeting. Paul Ellis of Arlington, WA and James Rooney of Carpentersville, IL were invited to interview also but were unable to attend; Mr. Ellis due to personal reasons and Mr. Rooney due to a schedule conflict. City of Kingman Narrows Field to Five Candidates for City Manager Members of the public are invited to attend a “Meet and Greet” reception to meet the five candidates being considered for the City Manager position. The event will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on the 2nd floor at the Mohave County Administration Building, located at 700 W. Beale Street in Kingman. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the new soccer field lighting at Centennial Park on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 6:00 PM. The ceremony will take place behind the Parks & Recreation Office at 3333 North Harrison Street. The Parks Department thanks the Kingman Youth Soccer League players, parents and Board Members, Mayor Monica Gates and Council, and all of the businesses that helped with in kind work on this project, and all those who participated. This has been another great community project. Following the ribbon cutting ceremony there will be Scrimmage under the lights between two Kingman Competitive boys teams, U14 and a U13 team. These are some of the best and brightest young soccer players in the area. This will be an action packed evening and a lot of fun – all are invited to attend.
