We posted a while back about needing someone to take over the Hog Days Co-Ed Softball Tournament. And, we are still looking for someone. I was recently asked, so who's all on this Hog Days Committee? Well, I thought some other people might have the same question. The Kewanee Hog Days Committee is comprised of a handful of extremely dedicated people that want to see the tradition of Hog Days continue for years to come. Of course, on Labor Day weekend we also have an army of volunteers to help setup, tear down and cook some of those delightful chops. We are always looking for people to get involved and would appreciate any help anyone would offer. A number of people and amount of money Hog Days brings to our community every year is tremendous. As we work on building another great Hog Days for 2017, we are in need of some help. We are needing someone to take over the softball tournament. This tournament is very popular and draws a big crowd. We would support, promote and send some funding to it, but we need someone to be the organizer and actually run the event. If this sounds like something you might like to do, please let me know. Hog Days may seem like a long way off, but we are coming down to the wire planning and getting our printed materials out. The first Kids Day for children and families was a hug success. So, as we are planning the 2017 Kids Day, what things would you like to see?

As we start to head into 2017, the Hog Days Festival Committee would like to wish everyone a safe and happy New Year! We are looking forward to another great Hog Days Festival and can't wait till Labor Day weekend!

The sale is extended! Tomorrow, Sunday, we will be selling chops again! Three chops in a bag for $3.00! Meet us at the Hog Capital Barbecue building. 306 N. Main Street from 9:00 A.M. till around noon.

Help! Our freezer still has chops in it! We are holding a Last Chance sale of our remaining chops. They are frozen and only $3.00 per bag, which is $1.00 per chop! This awesome sale starts this Saturday, 10/22/16, at 9:00 A.M.! Get there early to ensure you get some! We are also planning on selling chops Sunday, but that is only if we don't run out!
