Tomorrow the Marin Oratorio will be presenting the first of two beautiful performances of Haydn's The Seasons. Tickets are still available at the box office and through Brown Paper Tickets.
The Seasons Franz Josef Haydn (1731—1809) Boyd Jarrell, director From the rustic pleasures of the village peasants to the noble brilliance of the heavenly chorus, The Seasons represents the culmination of Franz Josef Haydn’s long and illustrious career. In this his last great work, Haydn’s genius for bold harmony and breath-taking orchestration is undiminished. The cycles of nature and human existence are told through the story of a farmer, his daughter, and her suitor. The 100-voice MARIN ORATORIO chorus and orchestra will be joined by guest vocal soloists Helene Zindarsian, Stephen Cannon, and Nikolas Nackley for a memorable performance of Haydn’s valedictory masterpiece.
This fall The Marin Oratorio is proud to present Haydn's The Seasons in English, Dec 16 and 17. The Seasons is a rousing, inventive, humorous, and glorious musical adventure. The fullness of life --- hunting, dancing, carousing; storms, sun, romance, wine, harvest ---- is celebrated with delight and exuberance. Marin Oratorio's 110 voice chorus, full superb orchestra, and stellar guest vocal soloists invite you to enjoy this offering of beautiful music.
