The Hugh A. Glauser School of Music The Hugh A. Glauser School of Music provides excellent music instruction for students who wish to pursue music as a career and for those who wish to enrich their lives through music study and performance. Kent State's Gospel Choir is open to all students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members. The choir's repertoire includes contemporary gospels, traditional gospels and spirituals. The choir enjoys an excellent local, regional, national and international reputation.
The School of Music boasts the Miami String Quartet, one the most respected quartets in America, as artists in residence at the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music. The miamis present an annual concert series on the Kent Campus and at other Northeast Ohio venues.
Operated by Kent State University with the cooperation of The Cleveland Orchestra and blossom Music Center, Kent/Blossom Music has been hailed over the past 40 years as a truly unique advanced training institute for career oriented young artists. It is an unparalleled hands-on experience allowing students to gain invaluable insight and experience as they are mentored for the public performance of chamber and orchestral music by the highest caliber teachers and musicians.
