CrossFit KGB is a community of people of all ages who are committed to constantly improving our strength, balance, agility, endurance, and flexibility. From this, we lead quality lives of independence and functional fitness. We focus on function and performance, not body image. We support each other as we enhance our abilities and improve our fitness levels by being challenged in high-intensity, constantly-varied functional movements. We are mothers, fathers, grandparents, and children. We are accountants, firefighters, teachers and doctors. We are the top athlete in our school and we have never played sports before. We are strong and we are committed to ourselves and to our community.

CrossFit KGB In-House "Murph"

KGBers: Come join us on Monday, May 29th for the CrossFit Hero WOD "Murph" in honor and memory of LT Michael P. Murphy (SEAL)! We highly recommend that you make a donation at http://themurphchallenge.com/ - your donation goes to The LT Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation and, as a bonus to being able to post and compare your results, you get a sweet new t-shirt or tank top. While on the site, please take the time to read about Lt. Murphy and about this very worthy cause. If you choose not to register for the event, you may still donate any amount of your choice directly to the Foundation at their home site http://murphfoundation.org/. We strongly encourage you to give what you can. We are honored to take part in this WOD every year and we expect a really big turnout - we hope to see as many of you as possible! **CLASS TIMES** 6:30am, 8:00am and 9:30am REMEMBER: You will have the option to do a 1/4 Murph, 1/2 Murph, Full Murph, or Team Murph (Teams can be of 2 or 4, and you will be doing the full WOD). All movements, as always, can be scaled. This is for ALL KGBers, of all levels and experience! From CrossFit.com: "Murph" For time: 1 mile Run 100 Pull-ups 200 Push-ups 300 Squats 1 mile Run In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005. This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it "Body Armor". From here on it will be referred to as "Murph" in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is. Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you've got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it. Let us know if you have any questions!
