Another great initiation these are the new members. I really hope to to see more of them. They were all amazing. They were all immediate friends and I am confident they will be at the lodge often. Your Officers did a great job. It is a lot of work to pull this off and the ceremony is very memorable.

If there is one thing I always love is the initiation of new members. These are the newest. If anyone notices the quantitiy is growing. The Exalted Ruler, his Officers and the members are very excited about the increasing numbers and faces. Everything went well and the new members appeared to enjoy their new partnership. As always we hope they will become involved with the charitable activities. GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN NEW MEMBERS.

This is our second year we have again supported the Veterans. The Combat Veterans put on a motorcycle ride/poker run on July 8, 2017. The turn out was amazing. The Joplin Elks was their first stop so we offered a breakfast and of course some cocktails, if they desired. All had a great time and they were a great group. Some even stayed over, in the bar, and got to know everyone. They all loved the Lodge. There were quite a few that were from out of State. Next year when we sponsor a stop please be sure and come out, have some breakfast and give us a hand. Leading Knight Jim Kessler.

We had another initiation and all went well. This is one of the largest groups we have welcomed to the Elks. I was able to speak with most of the new members and they are great. I am hoping we can continue adding to our roles. If you see one of the new members please welcome them. Let's all keep up the good work with bringing in new members. The Ealted Ruler and all the Officers are hoping we can someday get back to our old membership numbers of over a thousand.

I would like to thank all the members who have participated in any of our charity events in 2016. Either by donitations or personally assisting. The final numbers are in and the Elks members contributed $93463. Of that money 6,237 hours were contributed. This is equivalent to one person working 155 weeks 40 hours per week. As there are only 52 weeks in a year. Wow that is amazing!!!! All of your help is greatly appreciated and I am confident it will be an even larger number this year. Great Job!!!!!

Well last Saturday was the new Officer initiation night and it was fun. I was very nervous, but I am confident the new Officers were not. This is a picture of all the new Officers. I am so sorry but PER Skouby was blocked in every picture. This is the best picture of his ears. I do not know if this is his best quality, but they look fine. I have come to realize it is the Officers that make it happen. However, it is you the members that make us great. We try to make it fun and have a safe family environment, you know what I think we do a good job. When I joined the Elks and saw the Officer's commitment, I was convinced I would never be at that level. I know the Exalted Ruler felt the same way, (Charles). Well here we are. We do not always make decisions what people like. What decisions we do make is always what is best for the Lodge. As in the Exalted Rulers speach Last Saturday, (a little long to me LOL), Our goal is for the lodge to grow develop and be one of the best Charitable Organizations in the area. (Oh, thanks Bruce for giving us a good start and a lot of hard work!!!!!!!) .
