Today's the day! To all of you competing today: My dad was the band director in Paragould and Blytheville in the 60's, 70's and 80's. He always told us (yes, I was one of his students, too) - "Do your best". That is what he expected, and I bet - that's what your directors expect as well. So, in the words of Don Jones, "DO YOUR BEST!" I say - have fun, too! To all of the band directors: You made it - thank you for all you do for our kiddos!!! KUDOS to you - you deserve it!! To all of the parents: You are awesome!!! Just being here, supporting your kids - wow!! Your kids and directors love that you are here. Call time for all JHS band students, parents and volunteers for the Mid South Marching Classic is Saturday morning at 10 am in the band room for a meeting.

Tickets - Adults $6, kids 12 and under $3 Programs - $2 Concessions - cash only Will also have vendors selling shirts, hoodies, lasered items such as thermal steel cups, key chains and drum sticks and videos of performances. You may be able to use debit or credit as payment.

Thank you to everyone that helped with this event last Saturday! There were more than 75 volunteers - parents, grandparents, JHS band members, JHS band directors and staff, ASU Tau Beta Sigmas and even parents with no one in the band or their child wasn't in band anymore. Thank you to all the vendors that came out to sell their goods and supported the band and band boosters.

So stinkin' proud of our JHS Hurricane Band! They worked all day as volunteers at the competition, performed their exhibition show and then many of them stayed to help clean up. Love these kids!
