The South's premiere listening room! Music is a common ground for all kinds of folks, and that’s why The Down Home’s “come as you are” atmosphere has been a treasured place for so many people. Established in 1976 to provide an intimate listening room for a wide range of artists, from Townes Van Zandt to Willie Dixon, Doc Watson to Gillian Welch. We've had theater, political rallies, writer's series, poetry slams, and all night parties. Come as soon as the doors open and enjoy the ambience of a room surrounded in oak wood, paired with the best sound system in Johnson City.
