History in the making. Today we held the ground breaking ceremony for the first newly constructed court facility in Ionia County in 132 years! The addition to our courthouse is projected to be complete by Spring 2018! Thank you to everyone who came to support us!
****UPDATE: ALL PHONES ARE BACK UP**** Good morning, All of our phone lines are down at the Courthouse. Our surrounding county offices which include Commission on Aging, Friend of the Court, District Court, Health Department and Central Dispatch NON-EMERGENCY lines are down. You may still dial 911 in case of emergency. The Sheriff's Office lines are down, with the exception of their main line. They can be reached at 616.527.5737. I will update as soon as they are back up and running.
The walk from the road to the courthouse entrance is a bit longer than usual due to construction. Please feel free to call us if you need handicap accomodations to get to the courthouse from your parking spot. Please call the Ionia County Administration Office and we will make special arrangements to get you to the entrance. 616-527-5300.
The courthouse will be closing at noon today for Good Friday. Have a great Easter!
Beginning Monday, April 17th, the north entrance of the courthouse will be the main point of entrance for the public.The east entrance will no longer be accessible after this date.
Update regarding construction at and around the courthouse: Beginning April 11th, Washington Street will be closed as a result of street construction. Library Street will be closed from April 11th until completion of the new court facility building. The Friend of the Court parking lot has been designated as courthouse public parking. The West side of the Friend of the Court building has handicap spots available as well. The entrance point remains on the east side of the courthouse building until further notice (updates will come at the end of the week). Please follow the signs, located on both sides of the building directing toward the entrance. Thank you for your patience while we construct our new court facility!
Beginning Tuesday, March 28th, the parking lot adjacent to the Courthouse, on the east side, will be closed off to begin construction on our new Court Facility. Parking will be available across the street in the Friend of the Court parking lot, as well as street parking.

Seasonal Park Maintenance Part Time Pay Grade 4/$10.83 per hour Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, supplemented by one or more years of relevant work experience. Applicant must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license. Applicant must be reliable and be able to work weekends and holidays. General Summary: Seasonal part time. This position is under the supervision of the Parks Manager. Duties will include cleaning, repair & maintenance of Bertha Brock Park and park facilities including, but not limited to; landscaping, trash/litter removal, restroom cleaning, mowing, trimming and building and equipment upkeep. This position will run from mid- late April through mid-late September. General Summary: Must be able to perform a variety of complex clerical tasks including the intake, review, filing and preparation of legal documents pertaining to Circuit Court matter, as well as, the intake, review and filing of vital records and Concealed Pistol Licenses. Must have outstanding people skills, excellent telephone etiquette, strong organizational skills and attention to detail. This position is for 18.75 hours per week.
