"Our mission to provide a fun, friendly, MOTIVATIONAL environment where members of the Indiana COMMUNITY are given the equipment and professionals needed to meet their FITNESS goals." uptown FITNESS is a 24/7 facility located right off Philadelphia Street (behind The Coney) providing variety to help you meet your fitness goals. Uptown contains the standard cardio and weight rooms, but it also offers GroupX (group exercise) programs and Personal Training. The club recently experienced some renovations to allow for even more space and arranges options for non-members to utilize certain aspects of the gym. Also, Personal trainers at Uptown offer the initial consultation and trial workout complimentary to first-timers. Call today!
Staff hours:
*Mon-Thurs: 9 a.m.-2 p.m.; 4-7 p.m.
*Fridays: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.; 2-5 p.m.
Weekends now staffed in the mornings during the winter.

SUMMER JOB OPPORTUNITY! In search of a responsible, reliable employee to work the front desk for us at Uptown Fitness this summer! Available shift is 9am-3pm Monday-Friday. $9 per hour + free all inclusive gym membership for all employees. Ideal candidate would have office/ book keeping experience and clearances, however exceptions can be made for qualified/exceptional applicants. Job will entail paperwork, minimal accounting, customer service and public relations. Basic computer and typing skills a plus. Looking for someone with excellent people skills who can not only sell themselves, but the gym memberships with their personality! :) Applicants must be available from the beginning of May through the beginning of September. Pay is bi-weekly with no benefits (other than the above minimum wage pay and free gym membership, which is a pretty cool benefit if you ask us! lol). Resumes must include contact info, references, and be dropped off IN PERSON during business hours (M-Th 9-7, F 9-5) at Uptown Fitness. Please PM with any additional questions. Prefer applicant over the age of 18. Applications will be accepted until May 1st.

Don't forget- many of us who workout here at uptown fitness have younger siblings or children of our own in our households. While it's awesome that you're all with us working out at the gym and making strides on our own fitness and health goals, its important not to forget about setting a good foundation for the younger generation at home! Which leads us to the topic of: PREVENTING CHILDHOOD OBESITY Today, nearly one in three children in America is either overweight or obese. Help your family stay on the path to maintaining a healthy weight by following these tips: aim to fill your grocery cart with at least 80 percent healthy choices, limit portion sizes, plan and prepare healthy meals together, eat as a family most days of the week, limit screen time, and be more active.
