ATTENTION 8th GRADE PARENTS. 8th GRADE DANCE INFORMATION AND PERMISSION FORM. To ALL SVA 8th Grade Students and Parents: Preparations are well underway for the 8th Grade Semi-Formal Dance to be held on May 19, 2017, from 6:00 – 9:00pm. In order to keep the ticket price at $10.00 we need volunteers to help set up, chaperone, serve drinks, take down, etc. Please contact Chrissy Soards at 859.916.9136 or Marcia Cox at 859.802.9046 or by email at summitviewptsa@gmail.com if you are interested in helping to make the dance a success. Decorating will take place on May 19th, time yet to be determined. We are also in need of a clean up and take down crew starting at 9pm. We do not leave until everything is put away and cleaned up. Many hands make light work. Any amount of time to help would be greatly appreciated. The price of the ticket includes entrance to the event, all food/drink, including a chocolate fountain, decorations, commemorative photos from a professionally staffed photo booth and a DJ. Attendance: Per Kenton County School Board Policy, school attendance the day of a dance is a requirement. Students are required to be at school on dance day and are not permitted to leave early. A parent note is NOT sufficient. A doctor, dentist, funeral, or court note will be the only excuse accepted for entrance into the dance. Friday’s attendance will be at the door and students out of compliance will not be permitted into the dance. Please remember the following guidelines when selecting in advance: Ladies: All of the following are acceptable: pants or skirts, blouse, semi-formal dress, strapless dresses, dresses that are “high/low”. NOT ALLOWED: Dresses that have the midriff exposed or excessively deep neck or back lines, cut outs, too sheer (see through) or exposes undergarments even while seated or bending over. Dresses shall not be extremely short; dresses must be fingertip in length. No two-piece dresses. Gentlemen; All of the following are acceptable: Dress or casual pants, dress or polo type shirt, ties, bow ties, vest, jackets or suits. No sagging pants or exposing of undergarments. No Tuxedos. Ladies and Gentlemen: • No Jeans • No Shorts • No Athletic Wear Athletic or gym shoes are permitted. Remember, this is not a “formal” event and limousines will not be permitted to drop-off/pick-up students. Students from other grades and other schools are not permitted to attend SVA Semi-Formal Dance. Students will not be permitted to leave early from the dance unless a parent or guardian comes in to sign them out. Every student attending the dance needs a slip with his or her parent/guardian permission. Tickets will be distributed during homeroom the week of the dance. Tickets will NOT be sold during lunch.
