JPII has partnered with Bishop Stang High School to develop and export a popular and successful dimension of JPII’s marine science program, created and taught by Science Department Chairperson Mr. Jim Remillard (pictured with cooperating teachers). Thanks to the generosity of the Carney Family Charitable Foundation, "Tracking the Seas: Middle School Ocean Analysis” will bring a new understanding of oceans and ocean data to middle school students through the collection, analysis, and presentation of ocean data. JPII and Bishop Stang students will lead middle school students as they observe, identify, and photograph living phytoplankton and zooplankton, learn how to measure and analyze real-world data (temp, oxygen, salinity, pH, etc.), and present that data in a structured format to tell a story of our seasonally-changing ocean.
