Hurst's Corner
Description
Hurst's Corner is a family owned and operated bar. It was established in 1903. We have on and off sale wine, beer, and liquor. Hurst's Corner began it's existence in 1903 as The White Front ran by Warren Hurst. In 1926, the wooden White Front building was replaced by the current brick building. The name was also changed to Hurst's Corner. Warren Hurst's daughter, Bessie Hurst, marries Stephan A. Goethel who takes over ownership in 1933. In light of Stephen's death, Bessie owns the bar for four years before her son Warren Goethel becomes owner in 1949. Ownership gradually transfers from Warren to Wayne Goethel in 1990 who is the current owner today. Hurst's Corner celebrated 110 years of family and friends in 2013. Thank you for being a part of this legacy!

Had a customer bring in a newspaper from 1966. Within the paper is a map of the Downtown area boasting about all of the available parking for holiday shopping. We found it interesting to see what used to be Downtown. And of course, seeing ourselves on the map. 😊 Enjoy.
Scavenger Hunt Bar Crawl
Last year we did a scavenger hunt and it had a fantastic turn out. So, we are doing it again, but slightly different: a QR Code Scavenger Hunt Bar Crawl. (What is a QR code?? Look below in the comments. It's easy!) Here's how it works: Sign up your team (4 or less people) at Hurst's Corner from 2-3pm. $5 per per person, 100% payback to top team. (You will not be harmed by playing with less than 4 people) At 3pm, each team will receive a QR Code to start their adventure. Each QR code will lead you to the next. Along the journey, you will visit many downtown businesses, participating bars, and complete funny goals. A purchase is required at each participating bar. Any purchase qualifies! A drink, snack, lottery ticket, whatever! You don't have to consume alcohol to play! All teams must return to Hurst's Corner by 6pm! The score keeper will score each team. The team with the most points wins! Must be 21 to play. Everyone welcome to play! One team member on each team must have a phone capable of video, photo, and reading QR Codes (download an app). Locations participating: Hurst's Corner, Buckys, Sportsmans, Red Arrow, Lazers, Tailgate, Manolis, Ryan's Hanger, Scoreboard
Poker Walk
In conjunction with the Downtown Street Fest, we will be having a poker walk! This is a fundraiser for United Way. Participants sign up at Hurst's Corner at 4pm $10 entry fee. 50% goes to United Way, 50% pay out to top three hands. Everyone is welcome to play! Must be 21. Poker Walk will be 5pm-8pm. Participants visit participating locations, make a purchase (any purchase qualifies), and receive a sticker on their scorecard. Playing cards will be drawn when participants return to Hurst's Corner. Draw a card for each location visited. Pick your best 5 cards and that is your hand. First, second, and third will win money. All other scorecards will be entered into a drawing for other small prizes. Participating locations include Lazers, Red Arrow, Ryan's Hanger, Sportsmans, Manolis, Bucky's, Hurst's Corner, Scoreboard, The Lodge
