Down To Earth
Description
Garden-inspired goodness, from plants to the products and gifts they inspire... Down To Earth was originally founded in 2004 as a potential 'distraction' from my corporate career as a Food Quality Professional. After being put on the back burner for a while, it was time to dust off the shingle and hang it out full-time.
Down To Earth offers culinary/medicinal herbs, scented geraniums, veggie starts (in season), and a variety of other plants as they pique my interest or strike my fancy. These plants are non-certified organically grown in 2400 sq. ft. of greenhouse space. The greenhouses are currently licenced and inspected by the State of Tennessee. I have also created garden-related products that include seasoning blends, tea blends, Garden Girl (copyrighted) T-shirts, and more.
I can provide presentations on a variety of garden and herb-related topics, food safety, allergens, etc., to any size group.
While my greenhouses are not open to the public, visits can be arranged by appointment only. I will also entertain contract growing on a case by case basis.
Down To Earth is a one-woman show (with help and support from loving husband, Mark). I love what I do and I hope it is evident in my plants, products and customer service!

While more income would be great right now, I've had to suspend my winter market set-ups to get more work done in the greenhouses. Having the flu put me at least 2 weeks behind on everything. However, if there is something you need, you can always message me here or email me at dte0853@epbfi.com. We aim to please!
Just a reminder about veggie starts for your garden. If you're interested, let me know soon. Things get even crazier in March... By then I'll be as mad as a March Hare! Of course, it will take a trained eye to tell it from my normal behavior!!

Repotting plants that go dormant in the winter is the gardener's equivalent of an Easter egg hunt
If you think you want to grow herbs, here are some things to consider: 1. Assess Your Area - Is there good drainage? - How much sun & what is the pattern of sun throughout the day? 2. Select Your Plants - What works for my area? - How much room do I have? - How much time do I have? - How do I want to use the plants? 3. Where do I start? - Containers - Theme Gardens - Butterfly/Hummingbird Attractants - Rock Gardens - Foliage/Fillers & Groundcover - Accent/Decorative Plants - Color - Formal Gardens - Companion Planting Whatever you decide, we can help! Questions are welcomed.
