Description
Located in the center of Old Hilliard at the corner of Center St. and Main St., First Responders Park is local monument built for a national impact. Located in the center of Olde Hilliard at the corner of Center St. and Main St., First Responders Park is local monument built for a national impact. The park contains original artifacts from sites in New York City including a portion of subway rail and twisted beams of steel from ground zero. Central to the design are two artistic pieces meant for impact: a memorial wall listing the names of first responders who lost their lives at the scene and a breathtaking sculpture meant to represent the lives affected by that day. The park is meant to be a place to remember, to visit, and to mourn as well as to be a public show of appreciation for all those who give their lives to protect those in their community.

Sept. 11, 2017 marks the 16th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks that claimed nearly 3,000 lives in New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania. The Hilliard Division of Police and Norwich Township Fire Department invite the community to join us this Patriot Day at First Responders Park in Old Hilliard for a special memorial ceremony commemorating the events.

Join the Hilliard Community in Observing the 15th Anniversary of 9/11 Sunday, September 11, 2016 - 7:00 pm First Responders Park - Old Hilliard (corner of Main and Center Streets) Join the Hilliard Division of Police and the Norwich Township Fire Department on Sunday, September 11th at 7:00 p.m. at First Responders Park for the Annual Memorial Ceremony in observance of those killed during the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks. The ceremony will feature music by the Alliance Chorus and following the ceremony a concert will be held across from First Responders Park at Hilliard's Station Park. The "Paddy Wagon" Food Truck will also be on-hand for food and beverages.
