We have found that the skills, mindset, and approach of a print designer is quite a bit different than that of a web designer.  In print, for example, the design is often focused more on a two-dimensional surface, the material of that surface, precise colors and font types that are more easily controlled during the print process.  In addition, the print designer is focusing on a one-way static message.

On the other hand, a web designer focuses on moving parts; namely, the web visitor.  The web designer has to think about interactivity, intended response, possible response, and unexpected response.  The web designer can’t control colors because every monitor and many computers and operating systems display colors slightly differently.  The web designer cannot necessarily control the font because it often depends on the fonts installed on the web visitor’s computer and browser.  The mindset of the interactive web designer is quite unique and distinct from that of the traditional print designer.

At inQbation, we have designers who specialize exclusively in the web, because your website is not a static flyer, postcard, or business card.  It is a dynamic organism that lives and evolves over time and has gears that are manipulated by its visitor.
