Kristin Hannon '02 will be Moreau's Assistant Principal of Instruction, effective July 1, 2018. Kristin earned a BA degree in English and history from the University of Notre Dame, and a Master of Education from Stanford University. She has taught middle and high school English in public, Catholic, and charter schools before moving into school leadership. As Assistant Director of a Summit high school in San Jose, she helped develop and implement Summit's innovative personalized learning model. For the past three years, she has been the Director of College Readiness for Summit Public Schools, overseeing all college programming across multiple campuses. Welcome Kristin!
The application process for the 2018-19 Moreau Fellowship Program is open! Young alumni who are about to graduate college, or recent college graduates are encouraged to apply for the two Moreau fellow positions.
Beginning Holy Week, Moreau's music ministry's new CD, "Close to You," with original songs and reflections, can be purchased online at https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/moreaucatholichighschoolmusicm. The CD highlights students with original compositions in the Holy Cross spirit," said Associate Campus Minister Patrick Landeza, who produced the CD with the students.
A proud moment for Moreau Catholic as our Mock Trial team was recognized as the 2018 Team Champion at the Alameda County Philip A. Harley Memorial Mock Trial Awards Night last week! A school record of 20 individuals were named All-County 1st team (Honorable mention) and five were double award winners! Congratulations team!

Mariner Explorers is a two-week summer camp for middle school students (6th-8th grade in 2018-2019). Participants will have the opportunity to work with our respected faculty and learn new skills that will be shared with friends and family in a culminating presentation at the Mariner Explorers Expedition Day on the last day of camp.
Damoni Nears '18 is headed to Washington, DC this weekend to participate in the "March for Our Lives" demonstration in response to the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida. Damoni was featured in a story on KTVU 2.
Palo Alto Humane Society recognized student Kristen Benz as the first recipient of its Youth Volunteer Award in 2017. Kristen designed and executed a series of videos for teens and their families about pet adoption and pet care to fulfill her Girl Scout Gold Award. Kudos to Kristen!
Moreau's Jazz Ensemble received a command performance rating at the Santa Cruz Jazz Festival on Saturday. This was their third year performing at the festival. The Jazz Workshop received an excellent rating, and outstanding musician certificates were presented to Justin Firmeza, Beatrice Quiambao, Nicholas Pierce and Noah Jacala. Congratulations everyone!
