Dramatic Video: Suspect Dangles From Window After Trying To Escape From Deputies
Deputies apprehend JASON MILLWARD after an attempted escape out of a 3rd story window!!! Yesterday January 23rd, Deputies received information with the location on wanted person Jason Millward. Millward was wanted out of Allegheny County for failing to appear at Trial. The original charges were filed back in 2015 when Millward assaulted a Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Deputy that was guarding him at the hospital. Millward is accused of using a metal object to stab the Deputy in the back of his head, resulting in the Deputy receiving several stitches. Millward was ultimately charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault by Prisoner and Escape. He was out on bond awaiting the trial that he failed to appear at. When Deputies arrived at an address in Adamsburg they saw Millward attempting to flee from a 3rd story window. Deputies made entry to the home and were able to gain control of Millwards hands as he was hanging from the window. Millward refused the help of Deputies and made several attempts to drop from the window. He also made threats to the Deputies that he had a gun and was using his free hand to reach towards his waist band. Deputies that were located outside of the residence were offered help from civilians that were working construction nearby. They were able to provide the Deputies with a ladder that was able to reach to the 3rd floor. Deputies attempted several times to give Millward commands to use the ladder to safely make his way to the ground, but with each attempt Millward kicked or pushed the ladder away. After several minutes of holding onto Millward by his hands, the Deputies lost grip and Millward fell, hit off the 2nd story window and landed on a Corporal from the Sheriff’s Office. Millward was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Allegheny County Jail. The Corporal received medical treatment and was released with a minor head injury. New charges have been filed against Millward for this incident. I would like to commend all of the Deputies that were involved for demonstrating such restraint, professionalism and courage to save a man’s life that was wanted for assaulting one of their fellow Deputies and for making threats towards them during this incident. I would also like to thank the Construction Worker’s for providing Deputies with the ladder. Your assistance is greatly appreciated!!
