At the past Turkish coffee was known only as a term kahve, until instant coffee (Nescafe) was introduced on the market. Since then it has been known as Turk kahve. In 1544 was opened the 1st coffee house in Istanbul. The pot that is used to prepare the Turkish coffee it's known as "cezve". The leftovers from the Turkish coffee on the bottom of the cup are used for coffee reading. It's tradition to serve Turkish coffee with a glass of water. Turkish coffee is not filtered and the coffee powder stays at the bottom of the cup. The Turkish coffee is made from beans grown in Brazil or Central America. There are 46 calories in one cup of Turkish coffee. The history of Turkish coffee goes back to 1555. Turkish coffee is not just a coffee, but a way of life! Turkish coffee is healthier than the diet products.
