The fog is dense this morning! On mornings like this, interesting animals like rails, bobcats, and deer may be seen more readily.

Last year's Star Volunteer Award recipient Tyler Carney has been a reliable and committed volunteer at Sweetwater Wetlands Park, dedicating over 70 hours in just the past year, and a total of 180 hours since 2015. Tyler is willing to help with everything including invasive plant removal, trail maintenance, boardwalk maintenance, landscaping, trash pickup, and educational programs.
Occasionally, the wild horses at the park block the trails. Remember to stay at least 100 feet from wild horses at all times as they can be very unpredictable. If you encounter the horses on the trails, either wait at a respectful distance for them to move on, or go back the way you came. Do not attempt to walk through or around them.
Join us this morning on the boardwalk pavilion at 8:30 am for our monthly 1st Saturday Ranger-Led Tour! Be sure to bring water, sunscreen, and walking shoes.
Your picture may become part of an exhibit! The photo "Sweetwater Limpkin " by Barbara Ann Hansen was part of the “Art of Inquiry”, the juried exhibition of original works by artists in the Gainesville community, recently shown at the Harn Museum of Art.
