Description
Jesus Christ is our Lord & Savior. We respond to God's grace by doing mission work, witness about God's love, & follow the Holy Spirit. Jesus is Lord!
Paul said, “Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11)
Paul said, “If you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For one believes with the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved.” (Romans 10:9-10)
See also Galatians 2:19b-20.
Through the Bible, God reveals Jesus Christ, guides, encourages, and comforts us
Paul said, “For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, so that by steadfastness and by the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.” (Romans 15:4)
“All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16)
Jesus said, “You search the scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that testify on my behalf.” (John 5:39) See also Luke 24:27.
Every Christian is a minister having gifts from God to serve others
Paul said, “We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to faith; ministry, in ministering; the teacher, in teaching; the exhorter, in exhortation; the giver, in generosity; the leader, in diligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness.” (Romans 12:6-8)
Paul said, “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” (1 Corinthians 12:4-7)
“The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:11-13)
All are welcome among us
Jesus said, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
Jesus said, “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

Just a small change to my original email. Pam asked that we not bring gifts, but cards will be appreciated to help them remember us by! We are excited about the Fellowship Luncheon this Sunday in honor of Pam and Garry Ostermeier who are moving to New York. Please bring a picnic side dish; i.e. beans, cole slaw, potato salad, macaroni salad, etc. Hamburgers, cake and ice cream sundae bar will be provided. There will be a card and gift table if you would like to bring something to show your love for these wonderful people who have done so much in our church.
