We offer yoga classes, Pilates, VBarre, TRX, meditation, special workshops, yoga teacher training, private sessions and healing services including Yoga Therapy, massage and Reiki in beautiful historic downtown Frederick, MD.  We provide a variety of classes seven days a week so you can find a class that meets your schedule.

We know that it can feel intimidating to step into a Yoga or Pilates studio for the first time, and we welcome you with open arms, hearts and smiles.  We believe in the natural wisdom of the body and mind.Our philosophy is that all individuals can attain optimal health and wellness through movement, breath, awareness and connection on every level. We have classes and instructors to meet the needs of students from every path, at any point on their journey to health.  From restorative and rehabilitative sessions to fitness-oriented classes for athletic types, we have plentiful options with over 50 classes/workshops and trainings per week.

We welcome questions and requests to help you find the class or instructor perfect for you.  At the Shala, there truly is something for everyone. In Sanskrit, the ancient language so often used to name yoga poses, "Shala" means a special place of learning, gathering. At the Shala, knowledge and healing are our focus and we strive to offer a space where everyone is empowered to learn, heal and grow.


Our intention is to create a safe space and warm sense of community where individuals can access their own internal source of wisdom and core strength for self-healing, growth and transformation. Our goal is to always remain on the forefront of integrative health care and to share that in-depth knowledge to empower individuals toward personal health and wellness. Our method is to help all students improve overall strength, balance, flexibility, and resilience on every level with mind and body practices so they may thrive physically, mentally, emotionally and beyond.
