We had an awesome time at our Ballet Workshop today! #HollingsworthDanceGymnastics
Join us for a Ballet Workshop. This Monday, August 21st with Hollingsworth Alumni Gwynedd Vetter-Drusch $15 at the door. Having grown up in Manson, IA, Gwynedd Vetter-Drusch first strapped on her dancing shoes as a student of Sandy Hollingsworth at Hollingsworth School of Dance and Gymnastics. She then decided to focus on studying classical ballet. She traveled to work with Vaganova Ballet Method teachers in the Twin Cities and Des Moines (at the School of Classical Ballet and Dance / Ballet Des Moines with Lori Grooters and Serkan Usta). Upon graduating a year early, she moved to New York City to continue her studies. As a professional dancer, Gwynedd has performed with Tulsa Ballet in Sleeping Beauty and Ben Stevenson's Dracula, as well under the direction of the renowned American ballerina Gelsey Kirkland in roles such as Marie / Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker. Additional dance credits include: ensemble in the Off-Off Broadway musical Rock and Roll Refugee, which was warmly received by the New York Times and choreographed by JoAnn Hunter (of Broadway's School of Rock) and Liz Ramos (of Broadway's The Addams Family); Sugar Plum Fairy in DIY Nutcracker. Gwynedd has also performed internationally, including at Teatro Plaza Melchor Ocampo, in Morelia, MX, where she filmed a TEDx Talk entitled La Danza de la Vida. She is also the Co-founder/Choreographer of Moving for Monarchs, an international dance project working for monarch butterfly conservation, for which she had a show selected for performance at the New York International Fringe Festival. In addition to working regularly as a dancer, Gwynedd is also an actor. Regional theatre credits include: the leading role in Cider Mill Playhouse's production of Peter and The Starcatcher (Molly Aster); CMP's A Year with Frog and Toad (Bird/Mouse/Choreographer); Saratoga Shakespeare Company's A Midsummer Night's Dream (Tytania) and SSC's The Winter's Tale (Perdita). When Gwynedd is not performing or choreographing, she works as a ballet teacher and coach giving private lessons and classes throughout New York City and the surrounding region and for various studios through Liberate Artists.
