Here's what's happening today and Thursday this week: Tonight from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m., enjoy some Whine with your Wine at Dolce Vita Café & More during Wine Down Wednesday. Live music will be by Dawn Larsen! Soule' cafe will host their weekly open mic night tonight starting at 8 p.m. On Thursday afternoon, head over to the Florence County Museum for a free docent-led tour of their special collection, EVIDENCE at 2 p.m. Thursday night beginning at 6:30, Wholly Smokin' Downtown will be hosting their Live Music Trivia Night featuring music by Mike and Mike of Sideswiped! William Gerald will play live at Victors on Thursday night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Weather permitting, The Dispensary will have live music from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. -- FSD1 parents and students, don't forget that the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL is Thursday, August 17!

The Great American Eclipse is happening on Monday, August 21! We've compiled a list of places to go and things to see and do on Eclipse Day in Downtown Florence! Check back here often for additional events and details! Downtown Florence, SC is in the 99% totality range, which will take place between 2:39 and 2:45 p.m. If you choose to step outside and view the eclipse, please make sure you are wearing approved eyewear to avoid injury. Eclipse safety information can be picked up at the Florence County Public Library on S. Dargan Street. Local Motive Brewing will open at 11 a.m. on Eclipse Day and will be releasing their new black lager, Prehistoric FreakOut! Stop by and check out this new release and enjoy lunch or dinner. They will be open until 10 p.m. The Dispensary will host a Solar Eclipse Party featuring lunch and drink specials starting at 12 p.m. Experience the eclipse from Downtown Florence's only rooftop bar! Join the Restaurant Row restaurants on S. Dargan Street in the Renaissance Dining Courtyard for their Solar Eclipse Party on the Patio! This event runs from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Eclipse Day. Go Dark on the Patio at Victors on Eclipse Day and enjoy great lunch specials. All guests who dine on the patio to watch the eclipse will receive a complimentary glass of champagne after the light comes back! Grab lunch at Top Hat Special-Teas on Eclipse Day and get a FREE MOON PIE SUNDAE with the purchase of a lunch entree! Did we mention they have outdoor dining and will be giving away eclipse glasses as well? The Florence County Public Library will host an eclipse viewing party for children and adults on Monday, August 21 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Free approved eyewear will be available for children to pick up from Monday, August 14 through Monday, August 21 while supplies last. Children and teens under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult in order to attend the viewing party. Boxcar Market will be giving away free double-stack MOON PIES with purchase in the shop on eclipse day! Mainstream Boutique of Florence will have a Total Eclipse Sale with 15% off any regular priced item all day! MiLadies 182 will be continuing their Total Eclipse Clearance Sale through Monday, August 21st to make way for fall fashions. Stop in and get an additional 10% off clearance! We've got a busy weekend coming up in Downtown Florence! Here's what's happening: Tonight at Victors, enjoy live music by Jeff Lucero on the patio from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Weather permitting, there will be live music at The Dispensary from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. tonight and Saturday night. Celebrate National Farmers' Market Week at the City Center Farmers Market on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 369 W. Cheves Street. We hear there's even a new vendor selling goat cheese!! 😍😍😍 The Florence County Museum will host a back-to-school themed Family Day on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Bring your students out (all ages) and enjoy creating notebooks, bookmarks, and backpack tags! Admission and participation is FREE. On Saturday night, The Kentucky Headhunters hit the stage at the Francis Marion University Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Get your tickets online at www.fmupac.org. This show is sure to be a big hit! On Sunday, start your morning off with The Yoga Scene at Sunday Yoga at Local Motive Brewery in downtown Florence! The fun starts at 9:45 p.m. and participants are invited to stay for 1/2 priced appetizers after the session! Jazz returns to Soule' cafe Sunday evening at 6 p.m. -- Please note, if you are planning on heading to Wholly Smokin' Downtown for lunch or dinner, please use their rear courtyard entrance as repair work is happening on the front of the building!
