Effective October 1, 2017, the Florence Street Department will no longer collect Freon containing appliances or electronics in curbside trash collection. This change is due to new regulations for disposal of these items. Freon Appliances including: refrigerators, freezers, and window unit air-conditioners can be disposed of at a local scrap metal dealer or traded in to most appliance retailers. Electronics (except TVs & CRT monitors) including computers, tablets, cell phones, ink cartridges and more can be recycled at 1200 Terrace Street. Electronics can be disposed of free of charge to residents at the Florence Landfill - 29485 County Rd. 14.
