Boat Ramp is OPEN. City staff is now working on Docks 2,3 and 6 to restore electricity, water and fire prevention.
Boat ramp pilings, landing dock and the gangway are done. Gangway to docks 1, 2 and 3 are in place. The wooden walkway was attached to the fuel line is gone. Harbor Marine working on dock 2 at present. Dock 6 broken section of dock has been replaced. The plan is to have Docks 2, 3 and 6 ready to use this week and the Commercial and Long Term boats back home over the weekend.
The work boat is onsite and the 10 Minor repair projects should start on Thursday. These projects include: Replace/reinstall gangways to docks 1, 2, 3 and Boat Ramp Repairs to dock 2 Repairs to landing of dock 3 Repairs to dock 6 Repairs to boat ramp.
We will not be taking reservations for the 2017 Shrimp Festival at this time. There is no reason to come by the Marina or to call on Jan 2nd. Until repairs are completed we do not know what will be available to reserve. At this time we are looking at early March 2017 to take reservations. Happy New Year to everyone!
Things are moving forward! The bid for the 10 minor repair projects (ITB 16-18) was opened on December 22nd. The next step is to award the bid to the successful bidder. This will take place on Tuesday, Jan 3rd at the scheduled City Commission meeting. Then the work can start!
Because of the damage caused by Hurricane Mathew, we will<strong> not</strong> be taking advanced reservation on January 2nd, 2017. We will continue to monitor the marina repair status and when we know what slips are available and what the maximum size allowed for the slips that are available, we will advertise a reservation date. This new reservation date should happen some time in early March.
The City of Fernandina Beach issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB16-18) for the ten minor repair projects. A mandatory pre bid meeting was held on Thursday, December 15th, 2016. Multiple vendors were in attendance. Sealed bids will be received and opened on Thursday, December 22nd, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the upstairs conference room at City Hall.

Please call 904-310-3300 or radio channel 16/68 IN ADVANCE for access information and location. The charge for Dingy Dockage is $3.21. PLEASE call or radio in advance to make sure we have room for you.
