"I'm very excited to talk about my research and to get others excited about it, too. The biggest part of doing that is knowing how to communicate with people. How do you become the next Carl Sagan or Neil deGrasse Tyson? You have to be able to explain things to people in a way they can understand." Santipab Tipparach wants to create a better way for schools to use virtual reality technology with a new video game designed to interactively teach students about the solar system. Tipperach, who is pursuing a master's in computer science, is scheduled to compete in NDSU's Three Minute Thesis competition today in the Memorial Union. The competition asks students to explain the goals and values of their research in three minutes or less. #PeopleofNDSU

We are working to stop a real-life threat to our health.” Babak Jahani was a finalist in last year’s Three Minute Thesis Competition, in which NDSU graduate students present their research to the general public in three minutes or less. Tomorrow he will give it another round. The mechanical engineering doctoral student will talk about antibacterial coatings that can be used in biomedical applications. It’s all part of the growing worldwide fight against antibiotic-resistant bacteria. #NDSUtrue https://www.ndsu.edu/news/view/detail/32599/
