Another FABULOUS Beading, Caribou Tufting and Porcupine Quill workshop with Emma Hildebrand this weekend. She's such a great teacher; her students were extremely grateful to her for sharing her skills and for her patience with all of our questions. "Emma" "Emma" "Emma" "Emma" What beautiful work!

Check out this fun footage of Fairbanks in the fifties... I especially enjoyed the baby moose joining in on the playground! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/FG5PJY5phRQ?start=331" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Craving some fry bread? Learn to make your own! This weekend - Friday March 2nd or Saturday March 3rd from noon-4.
Alaskans love small airplanes and big dogs! During a small aircraft flight through turbulent weather, Cliff Hudson's dog Queenie got spooked and jumped 800 feet from his plane. He returned to the area where she had fallen as soon as the weather cleared five days later, and found her mostly well, despite being famished and walking with a limp. She healed quickly and went on to live a long and happy life, sharing many adventures with John Baker. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/q54rkn9qPpE?start=90" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Tanana Chiefs Conference's Moose Hide Slipper workshop with Adeline Juneby Potts came to a close today. The knowledge from an amazing lady, the smell of the brain-tanned hides, the beauty of the beaded slipper tops, sneezes from the blowing beaver fur, salmon casserole and half-smoke, lots of laughter and new friends made for three pretty awesome days! Thank you Adeline, you are an excellent teacher. We look forward to having you back again. Cheers also to our sponsors who support the cultural traditions workshops: The CIRI Foundation, Doyon, Limited, Alaska State Council on the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts and ExxonMobil.
