Taco heads! School's out! Woo hoo! So you got the kids full time for a couple months. Here's an idea. Swing by the taco love shack for some good taco love! You had us the past four summers at the farmers market. Now we have our own place! Yes, a taco love shack to call our very own. And we still have the wonderful taco goodness you came to love at the farmers market. And guess what? We're open 5 (FIVE) days a week now! Now you can grab some taco love, listen to some tunes, and sit and stay a while. Or stand out on our porch. You can even grab the taco love to go! We've been adding and trying different things all winter for you kids. The new favorite is the Po' Boy. It's a mesquite smoked brisket taco with a light BBQ cream sauce, diced onion, and diced dill pickles. Sounds weird, but it's super delicious and addicting. I modeled it after a favorite poor boy sandwich I used to eat all the time in San Antonio. You. Need. To. Try. It. Enough rambling! School's out! Enjoy the summer! Love the College Rd crew! Taco heads! I know you kids miss us at the Tanana Valley Farmers Market but we're literally just down the street! I clocked it in my truck. It's 0.9 miles down the road from the farmers market. No problems parking here, though! Always good parking. Super good food. Jammin tunes. Come on. We've added things to our menu, too. We change things up every week. We've got fresh baked conchas now. We're back. Taco heads! We hope you had a joyful Mother's Day whether you're a Mom or not! I tried to just remember the wonderful things about my Mom and share in that. We know y'all missed us at the Tanana Valley Farmers Market on Saturday. That's when we began 4 summers ago. The weekend of Mother's Day was the weekend you kids started this whole taco love phenomenon. That's when this thing took off and look where we are now! We can't thank the Farmers's Market enough for our first opportunity to share the taco love with you kids. I've expressed how I feel to Brad, but I'm writing them a real thank you letter. I gotta get through it without crying. :-) But now we're open 5 (FIVE) days a week! We took our Spring Break last week and now we're ready to roll! This week we'll be bringing you the Po' Boy taco again! Beginning Tuesday we'll have the smoky brisket delicious loving taco until we run out. Sometimes it lasts until Wed-Thurs, but ya gotta come and try it! We'll also be doing our usual suspects. The carne guisada, pulled pork, shredded beef, bean and cheese, and veggie/kale tacos. Hey, taco heads! Most everyone got their Spring Break in March, but we didn't. :-) So Brady and I are taking our Spring Break this week! We'll be closed this coming week. We're gonna take a break, do some needed chores, relax a little, and then hit it hard for the whole summer! We've got some exciting food coming at ya this summer, too. We'll be grilling. Grilling some good stuff. Hopefully not eating it all before y'all come. :-) So, we'll see y'all next week, Tuesday, May 16th. That's the Tuesday after Mother's Day weekend. Don't be sad. Taco heads! May the Fourth be with you. A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Rebel forces were using their cooking skills to concoct a taco love weapon never seen before by the Empire. Constructed by the less fortunate of Rebels, this weapon was called the Po' Boy. A mesquite-smoked taco said to be able to bring the Empire to its knees. A little green chile shredded chicken, some Mexican rice, throw some pico de gallo on that baby - maybe toss some cheese on there. Sounds good to me. And we're taking Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and all credit/debit cards now. We'll still take cash, coins, some checks - pretty much any American currency. Taco heads! There comes a time when you have to try new things. It's that day. The Red-Headed Stranger is rolling your way Friday and Saturday. Achiote rubbed pork shoulder in an achiote lime marinade, topped with pickled red onions and pico de gallo. You gotta try it. Still have the rest of the taco love family for you, too! Carne guisada, pulled pork, shredded beef, veggie/kale, and bean and cheese tacos all around! And don't forget about the Killer Kat Conchas! Conchas are a Mexican sweet bread, pan dulce.
