Congratulations to the Ballet North Dance Company for a great weekend at the Starquest Regional Dance Competition in Concord last week! Ballet North dancers won overall First Place in division with two groups, and placed 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th in overall age divisions with other groups. One of our younger groups won the coveted Odyssey Award for best Entertainment Value. Addie L. was also chosen as one of the faces of the Concord competition on Starquest's Facebook page. For our soloists, Bella P. won Petite Miss Starquest with one of her solos, and placed second overall with her other solo. Kaedyn W. placed second in her overall division, and Addie L. and Lauren D. placed 9th and 10th in their overall division. Many of our other soloists placed top in their categories. Joslyn W. and Lauren D. also won the Competition Kindness Award, with scholarships to NYC. Thinking about starting dance? Summer is the best time to learn! Ballet North WILL be opening at 4pm today! Come on out for our Master Classes with Kyle Tanguay! We will also be running most of our regular Thursday afternoon schedule.

Ballet North is planning to open at 4pm tomorrow for most of our regular classes, and for our special Master Classes with Kyle Tangay. See below for our expected schedule, then check back tomorrow for an update when we see how the roads are doing after lunch. Come on out for an awesome master class on a no-school day--dancers from any studio are welcome!

Well, it isn't snowing yet, but the news is saying it will hit hard after 2pm and build up to an inch an hour. Because of that, Ballet North will be CLOSED on WEDNESDAY for all classes, but the good news is it looks like we will be OPEN for ALL CLASSES on THURSDAY, including Kyle's Master Classes, as long as the storm tracks the way it is saying now. Wednesday early afternoon Kinder and Pre-School classes will have two make up snow days offered: Monday, March 12th and Monday, March 19th, , same times as the regular Wednesday classes. Please see your e mail for specifics about the make up days.

Ballet North has an amazing summer of Dance Camps and Classes planned! Check out our three different Dance Camps for ages 5 to college age, including our Russian Ballet Intensive with internationally trained professional guest artists. Students from any dance studio can take advantage of the opportunity to dance with some of the best in New England without having to travel all the way to Boston, and our Young Dancer Camp and Choreography Camp are great ways to have fun and learn a ton in the summer. We are also excited to welcome back Kayle Tanguay for another Contemporary Master Class on March 8th. His classes were very popular in January, and we can't wait to host him again. Dancers from any studio are welcome for this Master Class opportunity. Is your child asking to start dance but you don't know if it is too late? Ballet North is still accepting new students in select classes in time for our Spring Performance of Sleeping Beauty and Pirates of the Caribbean. Ballet North is excited to host another Contemporary/Modern Master Class next Tuesday, February 6th, with the amazing Ashley O'Donnell. Ashley has a BFA in Ballet Pedagogy, has performed professionally with a Modern Company, and has been teaching dance for many years. All dancers from any studio are welcome!
