Now that the weather is getting nicer, we know many of our patients will be playing outside and enjoying spring sports! Unfortunately, this is also the time of year we see an increase in dental injuries. You can protect your child's smile with an appropriately-fitted mouth guard. Custom-made mouth guards have the best fit, and can be made by our office - just call to schedule an appointment if you are interested in a custom sports mouth guard for your sports star! ***** POP QUIZ TIME... which TWO sports have the HIGHEST incidence of sports-related dental injuries? You may be surprised! The first person to guess the correct two sports will win a prize! ******

Do your children enjoy trains? 🚂 🚂 🚂 We are working on making a more fun and exciting atmosphere to help engage children and help them look forward to coming to the dentist. We realize that we can provide greater comfort and care to you all with an updated space. We are investing in planning a BRAND NEW pediatric office to improve the dental health of our community. It is going to look like a train station and have a train station theme, as a dedication to the history of our community and the joy that it brings our children. We have been working on planning all year and we hope to be in the new space in Vestal by the end of the year. Let us know your ideas and suggestions to better serve you in a new space. Our mission is to engage children with oral health education and care, and to help children feel confident and happy about their beautiful smiles!
What do you do with your kiddos to "play 60"? At Valley Dental Pediatrics we are with the American Academy of Pediatrics to encourage total health. Let's get outside and enjoy the beautiful Spring weather, get our blood flowing, while teaching our kids the fun of exercise.

Did you know that dental caries or "cavities" is the single most common chronic disease of childhood? And it is preventable! Our goal is to change this and help every child have a chance to grow up cavity free. Call us and we will set up an infant exam or new patient appointment to give you and your child the opportunity to have fun in a gentle, caring atmosphere where we teach your child how to grow up cavity free!!! Just because you and your family may have suffered the negative consequences of cavities such as pain, loss of work and school, difficulty eating and even spacing problems leading to braces, does not mean that your own child needs to suffer from the same problems. Let us help you and your family! We are a dental home that is all about fun, education, and total health. Prevention is our biggest goal. We want to see every child SMILE!

What did you do with your family to celebrate Earth Day? Planting your own seeds to grow your own food is a great way to help your children appreciate the planet they live on AND to help them enjoy eating healthy food. We know that many children have picky habits that they have developed. Keep introducing fruits and vegetables again and again and find fun ways to keep them fun and exciting. It's normal for children to not accept a new food at first, it may take ten or more attempts! Growing your own plants or making food prep into a fun project is a great way to teach healthy habits! And "lettuce" all do a better job taking care of our planet while teaching our children about caring for themselves and each other!!
