Federal regulators have approved Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong’s planned purchase of the Los Angeles Times, which would return one of the nation’s largest newspapers to local control. The event was held at the Los Angeles Lakers UCLA Health Training Center and also honored Mayor Fuentes for her service and leadership of the city.
